Heliozela sericiella

Species account (old)
Robson records Heliozela sericella and Heliozela stanneella as two separate species. Bradley and Fletcher also list two species although stanneella is given an asterisk, indicating that it is a doubtful species. In MBGBI Vol 1 the problem is discussed and as Pierce and Metcalfe (1935) could find no difference in the genitalia of the two forms it has been decided, for the time being, to deal with them under the one name used above. We find this species rarely [...] although Robson was able to give [...] Darlington (Sang) for stanneella. In Durham mines were found on oak on Waldridge Fell in 1985 (det. A. M. Emmet) and at Rosa Shafto N. R. during an N.N.U. Field Meeting in 1989. [...]
