Species account (old)
This species was well known to Sang and Gardner who had it from larvae collected form "Lychnis" (now Silene). It first came to TCD's notice when bred from Silene alba collected at Brasside by M. Mann. Thereafter it has been recorded after the same procedure for larvae collected at several other sites and it has turned up in several of the Rothamsted traps. Now found to be common and widely distributed in vc 66. [...]
