Emmelina monodactyla
Species account (old)
Supposedly of generalised distribution, we find this species rarely in our area. Gardner recorded it as "never common" in Hesleden Dene and on the railway banks nearby. There is only a single entry in Sang's Diary for 1858, and J. W. H. Harrison recorded "odd ones" near Birtley, circa 1910. There were no further records for vc 66 until 15-11-1990, when a specimen appeared in the Hamsterley Rothamsted trap and another arrived in the Chester-le-Street Rothamsted trap on 3-8-1991 (vc 66).
