Hysterophora maculosana

Species account (old)
In vc 66, Robson recorded this species as having been taken by Sang (presumably near Darlington) in May 1889, and in the additional notes Gardner records having found it regularly in one part of Hesleden Dene. [...] Coming to modern times, TCD found it near Hart Village in 1969 and had a specimen sent him by E. Blunt who had taken it in Castle Eden Dene in 1985. Sheppard and Eyre also found it at Graham's Flat in the Horsleyhope Ravine N. N. R. in 1978. [...] Although its foodplant, the common Bluebell is well represented [...] the moth can only be described as rare in the north-east.
