Species account (old)
Sang could only find a single locality for this species, near Wolsingham, [...] TCD [has] bred it from spun bilberry leaves, with varying success, for in some years small ichneumons greatly outnumber the moths obtained. In some of its localised colonies the moth can be quite common in good years, but it seems evident that parasitism is the main reason for its relative scarcity in what should be ideal habitat. At present only two localities, Waldridge Fell (a relatively isolated lowland heath) and Pontop Pike are favoured by its presence in vc 66.
