Species account (old)
Robson gives a somewhat doubtful record attributed to J. Sang for the vicinity of Darlington, pre-1857, followed by a number of records consequent upon suspected immigration in 1872 (one at Swalwell, 1872 (G. Nowell), larvae with those of L. populi in Crimdon Cut near Hartlepool in 1873 (J. Gardner) and an imago less than two miles away in 1874 (W. Fleetham), in which year a full-grown Iarva was found at Darns Head, Axwell (Mr. Hedworth)). [...] To date, there have been no further records [...].
