Species account (old)
In the north country, this is an insect of moorland and sandy stretches of the coastline. Even in Robson's time it was regarded as 'Decidedly a rare insect in [this county], though it is probably passed over as orbona (sensu Staint., i.e. comes)'. More recent experience suggests that the reverse is the case, i.e. that specimens of comes with a very dark brown, more or less sharply-defined mark on the costa may be misidentified as orbona. [...]
