Argyresthia goedartella
Species account (old)
Somewhat similar in appearance to the last [Argyresthia brockeella], but easily distinguished quickly in the field by the colour of the thorax and tegulae. In this species they are brassy-golden whereas in brockeella they are shining white. Unicolorous specimens are found as variants in both species and in this case differentation between the two is a little more difficult. In these forms brockeella appears rather shining brown, whilst goedartella is lighter and more brassy golden, The present species, like the last also has larvae which feed on birch and alder and it is even more abundant and widespread.
