Not at all common in our [county] where Robson could only quote Stainton's Manual for [...] Darlington ("Da"). It feeds on blackthorn and beating a good thicket of Prunus spinosa on a warm day in July will usually make it fly. Widely spread in vc 66 but never common. [...]
