Species account (old)
Another polyphagus species [see Udea olivalis, Udea lutealis] that Emmet (1988) associates particularly with the Labiatae, and Goater (1986) also notes an affinity for blackthorn thickets. It is again widespread in vc 66, if marginally less abundant than the previous species [Udea lutealis] [...]. Though having very similar habitat requirements these three species exhibit a distinct temporal succession, as indicated below:- U. olivalis early-mid June (vc 66 per TCD) late June- mid July [...] U. prunalis late June-early July (vc 66 per TCD) mid July- early August [...] U. lutealis late July - early September (vc 66 per TCD) late July - end August [...]
