Species account (old)
The caterpillars of this moth spin up the tips of various species of Hypericum early in the year. TCD often finds them when the plants are about 3 to 4 inches high in May and if collected can easily be helped to produce moths. In the wild, moths can be disturbed near the plants in June or July. They do not come to light as frequently as one would expect from the number of spinnings seen in the field. Well distributed in vc 66 except for the west of the county. [...]
