Elachista rufocinerea
Species account (old)
This is one of the earliest Elachistas to appear each year, emerging in late April and continuing on the wing throughout May to the first few days in June. A common and well distributed species in vc 66. [...] Emmet (Field Guide to the Smaller Lepidoptera) and Traugott-Olsen and Nielson (Fauna Ent. Scand.) both say that this species is single brooded but on at least two occasions late flying individuals in good condition have been identified. One appeared on 22-8-1984 (N. Rossiter) and another on 9-9-1987 (TCD) indicating the possibility of an occasional second brood.
