Clouded Buff
Diacrisia sannio
Species account (old)
In Robson's time ' . . . found on several of our moors, but is not very common'. This is probably an over-statement of its present status. [...] In Durham the only record for the post- Robson era is that C. Longstaffe found it near Hamsterley in 1943 (Vasc. 29, 7). It must now be regarded as very scarce indeed, and there seems to be a suggestion that it may be decreasing in the eastern part of its range in the British Isles generally (MBGBI, 9, 102, Map 73).
