Grey Scalloped Bar
Dyscia fagaria
Species account (old)
This is a moorland species, the foodplants of the caterpillar being Calluna and the two Ericas. [...] J. P. Robson found it on the moors in Teesdale, it appears regularly each year in the Hamsterley Forest trap, and it came once to the Chester-Ie-Street trap in 1954. This last specimen could only have originated on Waldridge Fell nearby, although it has never been seen there. In spite of this wide spread of localities it is seldom seen in more than ones and twos on any one day.
