Foxglove Pug
Eupithecia pulchellata
Species account (old)
As the name suggests the moth is attached to the foxglove on which the larva feeds. The distribution of the two are closely correlated. The only exception is that Sheppard has recorded it for Castle Eden Dene (Vasc. 61:64), possibly on cultivated foxglove in an old garden nearby. There is no other record for any of the magnesian limestone sites. Elsewhere it is widely distributed and regular in its occurrence. Taken in most of the traps and in most of the lists.
