Pale Oak Beauty
Hypomecis punctinalis
Species account (old)
A further note by Robson on page 212 of Vol. 12 Pt. 2 of the Catalogue, rejects a record of this species, under the name of Boarmia consortaria, from Castle Eden Dene by J. Wilson. In spite of the fact that the species is still otherwise only found in the South of England, J. W. H. Harrison recorded it from Castle Eden Dene in 1926 and this has recently been confirmed by D. Sheppard who took it on two occasions in 1973. Also recorded [...] in the Derwent Valley by Sheppard and Eyre from Thornley Wood, 10 Aug. 1976 and Chopwell Wood, 1 Aug. 1977.
