This species seems to be still unaccountably rare [...] as it was in Robson's time. This is somewhat difficult to explain, as it is widely distributed in the rest of Britain, even into northern Scotland. Sang used to take it regularly in the woods around Darlington in Robson's time, but there have been no reports of it since then, chiefly, we suspect, due to the lack of dedicated workers in that area in recent times.
