Thera juniperata
Species account (old)
This is a rare and local species in our [county]. J. P. Robson recorded it among junipers at High Force in 1927 and TCD has found larvae on the Dineholme junipers in Upper Teesdale during recent years, (1982, 3 and 4). This site is not far from High Force and it seems to be the only one to produce continuous records in our [county]. Apart from this [...] TCD took two individuals in the light trap at Chester-le-Street in October 1985 [...] it is most likely that the moths came from garden varieties of ornamental junipers, which had been bought from nurseries in other parts of the country.
