Blood-Vein
Timandra comae

Species account (old)
Robson had no authentic record except for a doubtful entry in Sang's list, but included the species on that authority and the fact that it was fairly common elsewhere. It is still a rare species [...] but is now appearing in some of the Rothamsted traps. It was first noted in 1968 in the trap operated in Houghall Wood at Durham University's Field Station [...] the most recent capture was at light at Oakerside Dene Lodge, Castle Eden Dene on 24 July 1983, by the warden M. E. Blunt. These records are widespread and comparatively recent. It is possible that the moth is just beginning to become more frequent in our area.
