Species account (old)
Robson notes it as "probably common in most of the wooded parts of our district", going on to say "It is often very local" ... We certainly find it amongst bracken (the foodplant) more frequently in light woodland but also on the more acidic dune systems, though there are several apparently suitable sites [...] where it has not yet been recorded. The scarcest of the family, and possibly decreasing.
