Species account (old)
Robson recorded this species as 'well distributed [...]', and there seems no reason to alter this verdict Being attracted to light, it is encountered more frequently than formerly, and in particular has been recorded from all the Rothamsted traps [...] which continue operating after most Lepidopterists have ceased activity for the winter. Inland sites seem to be slightly more favoured than coastal ones [...]. Larvae have been recorded from alder (commonly), oak, hawthorn, elm and birch.
