Green Arches
Anaplectoides prasina
Species account (old)
Robson found this species widely dispersed but generally uncommon. [...] In Durham [...] recent numbers are higher, and records more widespread than previously, though new records do have a westerley bias. J. W. Thompson noted it as uncommon at Chopwell in 1929 and J. W. H. Harrison bred one from a larva found on the roadside at Ravensworth in 1952, adding 'The species is uncommon with us'. There were no more records until comparatively recently: D. A. Sheppard took it in Castle Eden Dene in the early l970's and I. Findlay has had it at Middleton-in-Teesdale in 1975 and Sun Wood, High Force, in 1977. Sheppard and Eyre found it at a number of stations in the Derwent valley in 1975 and 1976, the Sacriston collectors take it there and at Witton Gilbert and Lanchester, and it has appeared in the Hamsterley Forest trap every year since it was established in 1981.
