[...] Robson noted, 'This does not appear to be either common or generally distributed', [...] It is, however [...] widespread and common in Durham judging by the number of records received. TCD has come across it in the field just as often as by trapping. The caterpillar is often beaten from Birch and Sallow, and on Waldridge Fell it is often seen on Bilberry: it can be fed up, and pupates without difficulty.
