Species account (old)
Widespread and generally very common, as it has remained since Robson's time. Noted from all the permanent trapping sites, and to above the 300m. contour in the south-west. Ab. obscure Haw. seems everywhere commoner than the type. The moth is flying from about the beginning of June in lowland sites throughout July, being up to a fortnight later at altitude.
