Species account (old)
Robson thought this species 'appears to reach the north-eastern limit of its range within [Durham and Northumberland]' [...] In Durham the species is not only widely distributed, but abundant and taken in all the traps. In September 1982 TCD identified larvae 'literally in hundreds' on a school wall in Sunderland - all feeding on lichens on the old part of the wall. With us the moth lies over a long period from mid-June to late August.
