White-marked
Cerastis leucographa
Species account (old)
John Gardner, Robson's friend and later co-author of the Catalogue, was the only person to record this moth in the early years, when he found it at Sallow Blossoms 'but it was decidedly scarce'. (sic) .J. W. H. Harrison (Vasc. 13, 76) has provided the only other record - of a single female at catkins of Dwarf Sallow (SaIix repens) on Birtley Fell, 27 April, 1926. It has not been seen in recent times, and we must presume it to be extinct in the [county].
