Broad-barred White
Hecatera bicolorata
Species account (old)
[...] There were no records of this species for Durham until it appeared in the Chester-le-Street trap on 27 June 1974, about the time it began to be recorded again in Northumberland, so that it is difficult to determine whether the extension of the range came from north or south. Since that date it has become a regular visitor -and also to other parts of the county, being taken at Hookergate by R. Henderson 3-21 June 1977 (a total of eight), at Witton-le-Wear by F. Stubbs on 3 July 1977, Sacriston by R. Woods and by M. Mann separately in 1978 and 1979, and at Oakerside Dene Lodge on the edge of Castle Eden Dene by M. E. Blunt on 17 June 1984.
