Species account (old)
In Robson's time this was apparently 'not at all a common or general distributed species, though it may yet be recorded from other parts [...] This expectation has been realised, and it is now known to be widely distributed over moors and areas of rough, undisturbed grassland, the major river valleys, and even less frequently) the more mature coastal sand dunes. [...] It is on the wing from late May to mid-July, overlapping in upland the large, dark form of H. thalassina referred to under the previous species
