Species account (old)
Robson noted this species as not uncommon in many parts of the district 'though apparently far from being generally distributed'. This is no longer the case, as nowadays it occurs virtually everywhere, most typically on moorland and areas of undisturbed grassland. It is taken, often in numbers, in all the permanent traps [...] it flies from the first few days of June until the end of August, in a prolonged single emergence.
