Species account (new)

In VC66 we have 11 records of this species. Seven of these are from Egglesburn Bridge and four others from Bowlees? both sites are in Teesdale. The first record was taken on the 8th August 2011. Though this species remains scarce in Durham, better numbers are seen in North Yorshire. This Nationally Scarce B moth is on the wing from late July-August, and it comes to light in small numbers. The larvae are rarely found and feed on Common Nettle and Dog's Mercury.
