Least Black Arches
Nola confusalis
Species account (old)
[...] In Durham there are a number of records in post-Robson times. T. A. Lofthouse found one sitting on an Ash trunk at Sadberge in 1918, J. P. Robson had it at Barnard Castle on 2 June 1946 and again in July 1953 and D. A. Sheppard found it in Castle Eden Dene in 1974, in Agnew Plantation (north of Newton Aycliffe) in 1975 and in Wingate Quarry in 1978. It occurs in the Hamsterley Forest trap (TCD) practically every year, and M. Mann took it at Witton Gilbert in 1985. It may well be more widespread than appears to be the case, as it is easily passed over as a 'micro', closely resembling members of the SCOPARIINAE particularly when a little rubbed.
