Species account (old)
All three species of Ochsenheimeria are widely distributed in Great Britain, but being diurnal and never very numerous in our [county], records are few and far between. The present species could only be recorded by Robson in one instance; on September 1885 by E. R. Bankes at Hawthorn Dene. Since then it was recorded at Birtley (vc 66) by J. W. H. Harrison where it was rare on grassy banks in 1944. More recently Sheppard and Eyre found it in Damhead Wood, Winlaton Mill (also vc 66) on 5-8-1977. [...]
