Species account (old)
A. nervosa larvae feed on both gorse and broom, the broom feeders living in spun shoot tips as do those of [A.] assimilella and [A.] scopariella. The caterpillars can, however, be identified by their colour and markings which are all different. As far as moths [adults] are concerned, [A.] scopariella is the latest to emerge and hibernates till the following spring. The other two do not do this. A. nervosa is fairly widespread and moderately common in vc 66, but not so abundant as [A.] assimilella. [...]
