TCD has a close interest in the early history of this moth in vc 66, for apart from specimens bred by Sang from a site near Darlington, J. Gardner in particular took his series from Tansy growing on the river banks at Chester-le-Street, and J. W. Heslop Harrison also found it there in the early 1900's, where it can still be found in numbers from the third week in July, sitting on the flower heads. It is now known from several other sites around Chester-le-Street, and is quite widespread in vc 66 [...].
