Another insect subsisting in its early stages on stored foodstuffs, this species has a wider range of acceptable pabula than some of the preceding species, attacking dried fruit, nuts, etc., as well as cereals, and would therefore tend to be more commonly encountered in the days before food processing was as strictly controlled as it is today. Sang found it in a tea warehouse in Darlington, and Gardner obtained it from a grocers shop in Hartlepool [...] There are no modern records.
