Species account (old)
This insect is usually found in stables where the larvae feed on chaff, corn, refuse, hay etc. It was tolerably well known to the early collectors[...] but such sites are seldom visited nowadays by entomologists, and this apart the species seems to have declined markedly. We have no modern records.
