Idaea laevigata
Species account (old)
This is a non-resident species. J. W. H. Harrison discovered larvae amongst coconut fibre when collecting sallow galls at Birtley in 1927. The caterpillars were shared with J. R. Johnson and a total of five moths were bred, using withered dandelion and sallow leaves as pabulum. As far as we know this is the only instance of this species having been found in this country. The moth ranges through southern Europe and the Middle East.
