Chesias legatella
Species account (old)
Although Robson was able to quote eleven stations for this species he was of the opinion that it was by no means common in our [county]. We now have records for it over a wide area of [...] Durham except in the south and east, that is on the magnesian limestone plateau. It is found wherever there is a good growth of broom, its foodplant. It appears to have extended its range during recent years, even coming to light in TCD's garden at Chester-le-Street regularly since 1973 but never before that year.
