Little Emerald
Jodis lactearia
Species account (old)
This is a rare moth in our [county] judging by the paucity of records since Robson's time. [...] only [one locality] has been received [...] Thornley Wood on 17 June 1976 (vc 66). It has not appeared in the Castle Eden Dene lists nor in any of the other coastal denes where it used to be found by the Hartlepool collectors, nor has it been recorded from the Darlington area which also appears in Robson's Catalogue. The moth is so delicate and easily damaged that it could easily be passed over as a 'micro' by workers who avoid that group. More critical examination of captures could result in producing a more complete distribution picture.
