Species account (old)
Not recorded by Robson, but J. Gardner adds a postscript on the capture of this species in Edderacres Wood, vc 66 by C. O. Trechman in June 1910. It may have been identification problems that precluded the earlier recording of this species [...] but it is certainly now well represented [...] The larvae feed on animal matter, often on dead rabbits, foxes and birds, as well as their faeces.
