Species account (old)
The commonest of the Cnephasia species, it is found generally distributed [...] except on the highest land in the west [...] A form showing melanic character is commoner than the type in eastern urban areas, in which the fasciae are completely missing, and the dark fuscous ground colour is decorated with fine black dots.
