This form feeds on Euonymus sp., The adult moth being almost identical with Y. malinellus. The only seperation given by Agassiz (1987) is the colour of the terminal cilia of the forewings. In malinellus, these are "more or less grey" whilst in cagnagella they are white. This is a somewhat variable character, hardly sufficiently different to characterize two different species. Y. cagnagella is widely distributed in vc 66 but never common [...].
