Pale Shining Brown
Polia bombycina
Species account (old)
Robson noted this species as 'A very rare species in our district'. Sang took it at sugar in Haughton Lane, near Darlington, on three occasions in the 1850's, but not subsequently, and R. W. Merryweather caught a solitary specimen at Elwick, near Hartlepool, about the same time. These remain our only records. Not known [...] in recent times, we must consider it extremely rare, or more probably extinct.
