Species account (old)
Robson [...] was unable to comment further on the distribution other than that the larvae were much less common than formerly in some areas of Durham. [...] In Durham the north-central area produces it regularly year after year: all the woodlands around Chester-le-Street from Lamesley to Bishop Middleham and west to Lanchester have it, and it is in the woodlands around Chopwell in the Derwent valley also. Further west [...] the Hamsterley Forest trap has taken numbers of the species each year since it was set up in 1981 [...] The picture suggests a rather nomadic habit, rarely spending more than a few seasons in any one site.
