Dwarf Pug
Eupithecia tantillaria
Species account (old)
Not listed by Robson as it was not recognised as British until comparatively recently. The larva feeds on Norway Spruce (Picea abies) and Douglas Fir (Pseudosuga menziesii) both non-native species, and the moth has spread as the Forestry Commission's activities have spread over the country. Now it is widely distributed and still increasing its range. We have records from spruce plantations all over [...] that are too numerous to list. It is easily disturbed by beating well-grown spruce and comes readily to light after dark.
